We’re looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager for the DACH region with potential to grow towards the position of Area Sales Manager at our unit Challenger Brands, a vibrant hub within West Coast Supply Group dedicated to helping innovative personal and household brands make their mark in the European market.
We support brand owners to grow viral concepts to vital products at the big retailers in Europe. Responsibilities -
First experience in collaborating with FMCG retailers, ideally in different sales channels like Discounters, Premium Retail, Drugstores, e-Com and DIY. You will get an area responsibility with all our portfolio, sales channels and agents.
Ability to use data analytics to support decision-making, category management proposals and business strategies.
Sales skills with a track record of successful negotiations and door-openings in demanding situations.
Develop and manage the portfolio of Challenger brands to achieve company objectives. Contribute to the success and development of the unit.
Build and maintain long-term, strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market presence.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to provide strategic insights and recommendations.
Negotiate contracts and agreements to optimize profitability and customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure excellent service and support for clients.
Prepare and present regular performance reports and forecasts to management.
Job requirements
Qualifications -
At least 2 years of experience in Account Management or Sales in the FMCG sector (especially in supermarkets and ideally in P&HC products).
Strong motivation and potential to develop your career to a senior sales position.
Fluent in English (both written and spoken) and German.
Experience working in Germany.
Ability to build and maintain successful client relationships.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Experience in FMCG, particularly in groceries, supermarkets, or personal/home care brands.
Deep knowledge of (discount) retailers and strong sales argumentation skills with a commercial mindset ability to open doors for new business opportunities.
Strong motivation to work for a distributor and the ability to adapt to short-term cycles and brand owner dependencies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerBI.
