Job description

West Coast Supply Group:

We don’t just move products; we master markets. Based in the Netherlands since 1977, we are an international trading company specializing in the global flow of A-brand FMCG. With a reach spanning 75+ countries, our business is fueled by sharp commercial instincts and partnerships that actually last.

We operate with energy where decisions are made in minutes, not months. If you’re hungry for international trade, thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and want the backing of a global scale player, this is where you belong.

The Role: Trader | US Market

As a Junior Trader for the US market, you will step directly into a high-impact commercial arena. You will step in to managing and maximizing our existing, high-volume account portfolio across the United States, keeping the momentum going while gradually expanding into new business development as you master the region.

This isn't a role for someone who needs a manual. You are joining a lean, fast-moving team where you will learn directly from seasoned trading experts. This is a rare fast-track opportunity where you will interact directly with major decision-makers and successful business owners. You will have the freedom to work independently, make quick decisions, and take full responsibility for high-volume container deals.

Your USP: The World is Your Office

International trade doesn't happen behind a desk, especially not in the American market. For this role, a passion for travel is essential. You will be crossing the Atlantic multiple times a year, flying out to key commercial hubs to close deals face-to-face and witness market dynamics first-hand.

Working Structure & Time Zones: The Trade-off

Because you are conquering the US market from the Netherlands, this position requires a non-traditional, highly flexible schedule. We don't do a 9-to-5 mentality here deal-making happens when the American market is awake.

  • Morning: Process trading results and handle operational system updates.

  • Daytime: Focus on market research, strategy, and commercial preparation.

  • Afternoon & Evening: deal-making via phone and WhatsApp during US business hours.

What we ask from you: You need to be reachable, highly responsive, and ready to strike when the market is hot, even if that means being available in the evenings

What you get in return: This isn't a one-way street. In exchange for your flexibility and dedication, you get freedom and rapid professional growth. You will step out from behind your desk multiple times a year to travel (alone) across the Atlantic, attend major international trade fairs, and meet successful business owners face-to-face. This is your chance to run a multi-million dollar region on your own, developing your commercial instincts at a pace that no standard corporate job can match.

Your Responsibilities

  • Account Optimization: Manage and maximize active, volume-based accounts within the US market, ensuring constant commercial contact.

  • Strategic Trading: Structure, negotiate, and close high-volume, full container deals that drive serious revenue.

  • Relationship Management: Network extensively via phone, WhatsApp, and in-person visits to build rock-solid partnerships with suppliers and customers.

  • Operational Excellence: Take full ownership of your order flows, process daily trading results, and monitor the logistics of your US accounts.

  • Market Expansion: Identify market gaps and gradually open new commercial opportunities within the region as you grow in the role.

Job requirements

What You Bring to the Table

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree level of thinking and working. We value raw talent, hunger, and a relentless drive to learn over a long list of resume experience. Junior-level professionals with the right commercial instinct are highly encouraged to apply.

  • Language Skills: Native-level fluency in English is strictly required to effectively navigate and negotiate within the American business culture.

  • Commercial Muscle & Confidence: You possess a charismatic, confident, and outgoing personality. You are completely comfortable networking, building rapport, and holding your own with major corporate decision-makers.

  • Mobility: You hold a valid passport with no travel restrictions, ensuring smooth and seamless entry into the United States for business trips.

  • Adaptability: You are highly flexible and have a practical understanding of managing international travel, jetlag, and shifting time zones.
